The heart of what we do

Our aim is to create fitness communities through our classes and holiday camps that support each other to achieve their goals. By bringing people together we are helping reduce social isolation and loneliness which has been proven to improve mental and physical health. The wider impact of healthier people is reduced costs on the NHS, less strain on our GP surgeries, hospitals and mental health services.

This all sounds very serious but the most important bit is: We make fitness fun and sociable. We create classes, camps and events that people want to come back to. It is important to us that in all our projects, whether they are aimed at 4 year olds, mums or older adults is that we play, we share, we have fun.

“Team Tasha Fitness CIC was formed in October 2020 when I lost my job managing a gym in lockdown. As a single mum it was a terrifying time trying to manage my household, care for my children and figure out how to work at the same time. Money was tight and keeping the children (and myself), healthy, active and cared for while I worked (while tapping into a sense of community to keep us all going) - wasn’t easy!

I realised that so many other families were struggling with the same thing, and that’s when I had the idea for Team Tasha Fit Camps and our community classes.

In this first year of business we have delivered holiday classes to children aged 4-15, to new mums and to older adults in fields, on the beach, flights of stairs, schools and parks. We have literally had hundreds of people have fun with us through our HAF programs and classes.”

Run Club Margate

Case Study: KAB Super Hero Run + Run Club

Our Run club started out with just £300 funding from Kent Sport and is now running as a sustainable community class enterprise.

“One of the highlights of my year was Run Club - and teaching the warm up to the KAB 2021 Super Hero Run, with to a sea of Team Tasha green superheros and James Crossley, aka Hunter from the Gladiators.

Most of the people that I’d trained at Run Club had never considered running a 5 or 10 K before and many had long term health conditions. They were joined by 20 children from my HAF summer camp who entered the fun run. It was a fantastic feeling seeing how many people we’d got active and watching them all out running together.

My plan is to keep doing more of the same, running Holiday Fit Camps in the school holidays, more outdoor exercise classes and run/walk clubs term time and to launch Party Fit Club so everyone can have a fun night out whilst getting active.”
